Yellow Wood Divergance

Sept. 12, 2026

Today was a day of revelations and conspiracies revealed! Percival, in his own bumbling courage, was able to almost secure a new arm, but in the process the heroes were able to determine the curse on his severed limb was unbreakable, no small thing, and very concerning!

Midway through the day was the arrival of Sermo, the Gentry of Language. He came with encouragement and a warning. Some words are forbidden. It was revealed that Exalos was not the first human colony in Vespirian, and the original settlement was erased to try and stem the resurgence of the Cursed. To prevent that from happening again, the heroes need to thwart the Cursed on their own.

Arriving to tempt them, was Locaris, the tempter. Arriving at the head of a battalion of dredge, he offered them a terrifying choice, allow themselves to be escorted to the ruins of New Berla or face the full unrestrained might of every dredge in existence.

The players, undaunted, chose courage and freedom and decided to retain their independence, earning the eternal ire of Locaris in the process.

This gave them several problems. They needed to gather the reagents to enact the Ritual of Spirit Walking, and they needed to discover the name of the small dragonkin village that existed in the same location before New Berla was built.

Through a combination of scouting, research, and brute force, the heroes managed to recover the shattered signposts recording the name of the village, and are now poised to use the Vespuccin Pelorus relic to navigate to the ruins, and take the fight into the very teeth of the Cursed citadel...

No one left behind

We are on the verge of putting a stop to the cursed Dredge army. Every single person counts. In a successful attempt to protect Kuma from dying and being taken away by Locaris, I have offered myself to serve Locaris. As he escorted me to their den, he confessed that he did not want me as a sword, but as a pet, or worse, something he could torture for pleasure. Realizing I have accomplished my goal to save Kuma, it was now time to save myself. I challenged Locaris and his Dredge to a bout of combat, to best them and secure my freedom, but his Dredge fought mercilessly and brought me to my knees. Little did they know, I had a trick up my sleeve, while their guard was down, I felt an invigorating energy flow through me, lifting me from my knees, giving me the energy to make my escape. I fled, fast, chased by those creatures, barely making it back to the safety of the tavern. This was a terrifying experience, but one I will face again if necessary. In this war, no one gets left behind, not on my watch.
