Even in the face of internal conflict, the heroes of Exalos once again banded together to keep the tavern, and surrounding countryside, from being razed to the ground. While the Cursed Hunter Psychon escaped, Lord Percival was rescued and his affliction was cured in... decisive fashion. It's unclear what Psychon's end game was, or if he has the capacity to repeat the affliction, but disaster was averted. Under duress, Lord Percival shared the existence of one of the Ethalia's most shameful secrets... The ritual went forward without incident, and in spite of Decreator Arbalest and his minions attempting to disrupt it, the heroes stood fast and were able to sidestep the pitfalls he put in their way. Zero leyline nodes remained corrupted by the end of the day, and the protective wards remained firm over the Tavern. Through no fault of the heroes, it seems the Order of Mutable Form underestimated the threat they faced striking at the heart of the Dredge Dog creation location, and were decimated. In her dying moments, Precept Vernwell, leader of the Mutable Form, was able to hand off the log book containing the secret of the ritual, the summation of 100 years of research, and should they choose so, bold adventurers could attempt to recreate it when the time is right...
