While preparing for the annual Sunbirth festival we received an unexpected guest. A man came sauntering into town with the unmistakable dark aura of a cursed. He said he was a messenger from Psychon and brought the gold that was promised for the sale of Redhide. Despite his seemingly peaceful intentions, soldiers of the Blood Lilly thought best to remove this cursed and promptly knocked him unconscious and removed him from Exalos. The safe choice to make if you ask me. Though some thought the gold he brought may have carried some foul magic, it turned out to be proper payment, though not in any type of coin we are familiar with.
The celebration was supposed to be a join effort of both the Ethalian denizens and members of the Grass Hawk tribe, but the supplies we promised were delayed too long and some adventurers were sent to investigate. They found the supply cart ransacked and the couriers slain. However, one of the fallen men rises with the dark aura of a cursed. He called himself Arbalest and claimed to be immortal. Despite his claims he was quickly dispatched and what supplies were left were recovered. However the special Lindwool grain that was required for the Sunbirth ritual was gone.
After the adventurers returned we were visited by a mushroom dryad by the name of Beatrice Vernwell. She explained she was a member of the Order of the Mutable form and they had been studying about the cursed for nearly 100 years. Beatrice is able to sense their spirits and was able to point the adventurers in the direction some cursed had gone in the hopes of recovering the Lindwool grain.
Upon finding the grain however, the adventurers were set upon by another, also calling themselves Arbalest. They thanked us for Redhide, and summoned a number of beast-like creatures to fight. They looked barely alive and screamed with pain. These creatures would later be known as the Dredge. After a long battle against these new foes who would not die, the adventurers were able to retrieve the grain and return to Exalos. The Sunbirth ritual continued and spring came again.
