Nature, Endurance, Conservation, Anticipation
Inaala takes the form of a faceless elven woman. Their face is the blackness of the night sky covered in pinpoint stars and nebulas and her voice echoes as if they are standing in an auditorium. They are often surrounded by an ultraviolet glow.
Inaala doctrine states that the elves are the children of the stars, and it was from there they came to the sea, but there is some debate as to if the original elves came from a place in the stars or were created from the stars themselves. The teachings of the church primarily center around maintaining and waiting, as the elves were promised long ago that Inaala would come someday and return the entire elven people to the stars from which they came. In the meantime the elves live in harmony with nature, tending the wilds and acting as conservators of the natural world. A living and healthy world will sustain the elves until their promised time, and a destroyed world will prevent them from surviving to their end reward.
Inaalan clergy often focus on augury, pursuing visions and signs to guide their long term decisions.
All Inaalan teachings center around caution and conservatism, shunning the easy path and looking at the long term repercussions of actions taken. Lessons are often taught using the characters of Allia the wise elf, and Baelu the foolish elf, describing their actions in the same situation and highlighting the consequences in the long term.
“The humans set up a settlement on the edge of a sacred forest and are threatening to harvest wood under our protection. Allia the Wise comes to the humans as a friend, and teaches them the importance of the forest, and shows them where they may hunt and grow safely. Baelu the Foolish attacks the humans, killing them with arrows and razing the new settlement to the ground. One hundred years later Allia is living in harmony with the descendants of the original humans, who respect the forest and trade with the elves there. One hundred years later Baelu has fought the humans many times, and every time they are destroyed they come back in greater numbers and better armed and eventually he is overwhelmed and the forest and the elves there are destroyed”
